The name of these historic baths is believed to commemorate the body of St Aldelm resting there on its journey from Doulting to Malmesbury Abbey. The waters have always believed to be healing and in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries the baths were frequently visited by royalty.
Did you know … The warm water spring from these baths was possibly used BEFORE the nearby Roman Baths were even developed.
